What to Ask Us at Your Meet & Greet?
Welcome to Woodburn Pediatric Clinic, and thank you for choosing us as your family’s trusted pediatrician. We are excited to get to know you, and invite you to schedule a free meet and greet with us in our Woodburn office to meet your future pediatrician. We’ll be happy to answer any questions you have about our services, specialists, check-ins, vaccinations, child care tips, and more. We’ve created a list of questions below to get you started.
1. What are the guidelines for contacting you or your office if I have questions?
You can always call the main number for any questions, but for specific questions you are welcome to call the specific department. We have direct lines for new patients, referrals, medical records, scheduling any behavioral or mental health appointments, or contact our admin staff.
2. Will a nurse or doctor be able to answer my questions when I call?
If you have question regarding your child’s health, a nurse or medical assistance will provide you with advice on your child’s symptoms and schedule an appointment if the child needs to be seen immediately.
3. What would I do if my child is sick or has an emergency on the weekend, holidays, or in the middle of the night?
If experiencing a life threatening emergency, please call 911. For all others, please call our main line to be directed to the nurse or doctor on-call. We always have a provider/nurse on call every night and weekend.
4. What special services does your office offer that I should know about?
We offer treatment of mental health and ADD. We also provide lab services here at our office for your convenience. We are here for your child for health Well Child Checks, vaccine, as well when your child is ill. We are here to serve all your child’s needs in their medical home.
5. How much time is built into my child’s appointment to answer my questions?
It depends on the appointment, new patient appointments and well-child appointments are longer appointments. Remember, it is important to show up at least 10 minutes before your appointment to expedite the process.
6. Can I send you an e-mail for non-urgent questions?
Our website also has specific contact for the admin staff, or sign up for our patient portal and you can communicate with our staff via email.
7. How do you handle checkups with breastfeeding infants?
We provide a lactation specialist to assist you with your breastfeeding needs. Please do not hesistate to call for questions or advice at any time. Do you provide care or guidance for the mother and the baby while the baby is breastfeeding?
We provide hands on guidance and coaching on breastfeeding.
8. Do you have a lactation specialist? How often can I meet with him or her?
Yes, you can meet with her as often as needed. Adelina enjoys providing guidance for new and experienced parents
9. How often should we come in for check-ups?
Depends on the child’s age. Younger children need to be seen more frequently than pre-teens and teens. However, it is important for your child to maintain their well-child appointments even if they don’t have any health concerns. See the WCC schedule attached. Vaccines are also available, please call for advice as needed.

11. What are some typical problems or behaviors to keep an eye on first-time parents may not know about?
It is important for an infant to be seen in our office the day after discharge from the hospital. At this appointment lactation services will be available. Please bring all the hospital paperwork and newborn screening card. Babies should be eating as often as every 1-3 hours. The provider will discuss this with you at your appointment. It is important to call our office right away with any illness or fever in your young infant. Please to not hesitate to call our office at any time (even after hours we will have a nurse or on call provider call).
